PlayStation 5 Gets Two Exciting Xbox Hits for 2025 & 2026

This August, PS5 players have more exciting options. CloverPit is set to be released on August 13 for $4.99, while Starsand Island will arrive on August 18 with a price tag of $39.99.

Stunning PS5 Action RPG Launches with Mixed Reviews on PlayStation Store

A brand new, stunning PS5 action RPG has just been released, but it’s been receiving mixed reviews since hitting the PlayStation Store.

The Relic: First Guardian is Out Today on PlayStation but Facing Mixed Reactions

Project Cloud Games’ The Relic: First Guardian is now available on the PlayStation Store. This visually striking action RPG takes players on a journey through the world of Arsilthus, involving combat against enemies and exploring a semi-open environment.

However, the game’s reception has been polarized. On OpenCritic, it holds a score of 59, with only 7% of critics recommending it. IGN’s Jarrett Green describes it as a missed opportunity, calling it “an energetic action game marred by its chaotic state and broken in too many inexcusable ways.”

CGMagazine’s Marcus Kenneth describes the gameplay as “rough,” while Stuart Glover from GamingBolt appreciated the experience, noting that although the game’s “unpolished edges almost undermine the experience,” the atmospheric exploration of a haunting world keeps players engaged.

The game’s official description reads: “Transformed into an apocalyptic wasteland by the destruction of the great relic, Arsilthus—once a thriving land—lies in ruins. Set in a dark, haunting environment inspired by Korean folklore and ancient mythology, it’s up to you to restore the fractured realm and honor the memories of those who came before.”

  • PlayStation Plus Extra April 2026 Game Vanishes from Library

PlayStation Plus Extra April 2026 Game Vanishes from Library

A popular PS5 action game added to PS Plus Extra in April 2026 has mysteriously disappeared from the catalog. Squirrel With a Gun was taken down sometime in the past day or two, although it’s not officially scheduled to leave the service.

Players who previously downloaded Squirrel With a Gun from the catalog can still access it. However, new users are now required to purchase the game, as there is no longer an option to redeem it directly from the catalog.

The game’s PS Store page is also missing the PS Plus badge at the moment.

This kind of removal isn’t entirely unusual, but it’s likely temporary and related to a longstanding glitch in the PS Store. Historically, games have occasionally vanished from the catalog following SKU updates but later reappeared without issue.

While rare, Sony has at times removed certain titles entirely rather than simply retracting them from the catalog, but given that Squirrel With a Gun was only added four months ago, it’s unlikely that’s the case here. We’ll keep an eye on the situation and update if the game makes its way back to PS Plus.

Today, the PS5 welcomes a new set of JRPG remasters. A fresh collection has just been released, giving fans the opportunity to revisit two beloved classics.

Koei Tecmo’s Blue Reflection Quartet, developed by Gust, is now available on the PS Store for $49.99. This compilation includes four titles: remastered versions of Blue Reflection and Blue Reflection: Second Light, along with two new entries—a remake of the mobile game Blue Reflection: Sun and an anime-based game adaptation of Blue Reflection Ray.

This project is rooted in the original Blue Reflection, a role-playing game launched in 2017. The game also inspired an anime series and a sequel, Blue Reflection: Second Light, released in 2021. Check out the trailer for the collection below:

The original Blue Reflection tells the story of Hinako Shirai, a ballet dancer who sustains an injury but gains magical powers that enable her to fight and move freely. During the day, she attends school, and at night, she explores other worlds, battling monsters. The anime adaptation delves deeper into the storyline from the first game, while Sun and Second Light expand her journey with new monsters and additional plot elements.

In a recent review, Tyler Treese praised the collection as “an excellent way to dive into Gust’s underrated JRPG series. PS5 Remaster of Beloved PS Vita RPG Launches Soon

A 13-year-old Japanese RPG for the PS Vita is making its debut on home consoles for the first time, with a release date set for September 2026 on PS5. Developed by Studio Saizensen and published by Furyu, Exstetra was originally launched exclusively in Japan in 2013 for the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS.

The remastered version for PS5 is scheduled to come out on September 3, 2026, while the PC version is available today.

The game’s story revolves around the idea that “Kiss is the only way to save two worlds destined for destruction.” It’s set in Amazea, a Tokyo merging with an alternate dimension on the brink of collapse. Players assume the role of a “Prisma,” a chosen hero fighting to save both worlds from annihilation. The game’s unique twist: the only way to prevent catastrophe is through a kiss.

This marks Exstetra’s first-ever international release. In 2013, inquiries about localizing the game for English audiences were met with skepticism, as XSEED, the company often responsible for Western releases, indicated it was unlikely to happen at that time. However, XSEED is not involved in this current project.

The game’s PlayStation Store page is not yet live, and the price for the PS5 version has not been announced.
