The first step is creating your family, then helping them develop skills to succeed. One of the most fun skills to improve is the art skill, which offers many uses. Here’s what you need to know to boost this skill so your characters can become skilled artists.

What Is the Art Skill?

The art skill is the main skill that covers all artistic activities in Paralives. Improving this skill helps your characters learn other art-related skills faster. To get better at art, your characters need to focus, since they won’t gain points when they’re in a bad mood or sick. Practicing related activities can help boost multiple skills at once.

You can also increase your art skill by reading books, studying online, or dreaming about art, provided you have unlocked the relevant perk through your storyteller.

How To Increase the Painting Skill

To improve painting, you need an easel, which can be bought from the build/buy menu under hobby items. Once placed in your home, you can start creating paintings of portraits or abstract art.

Note: Creating art costs money for supplies like canvases. As your skill improves, you’ll unlock the ability to make more types of paintings. Completed artworks can be displayed or sold to earn money.

You can also buy a children’s coloring set for a simpler way to draw, but note that it won’t produce displayable art.

Just like in real life, there are lots of creatures to find, and many chapters to hold them. Mr. E. is a very detailed book with plenty of chapters for you to explore.

How Many Chapters Are There?

There are a total of 12 chapters for you to explore. Each one is completely unique, and it’s rare for them to share the same main creatures as other chapters.

However, you’ll see many creatures appear in multiple chapters over time. For example, Crayzee Dayzee and Bunchabee are quite common. When they reappear in later chapters, they often interact with new creatures introduced there.

Can You Play The Chapters In Any Order?

When reading a book, you wouldn’t usually flip through pages randomly or skip sections just to get to the exciting parts. It’s similar in the game. Mr. E is a book with several chapters, and you can jump into any of the chapters you’ve unlocked at any time.

This isn’t exactly skipping chapters but playing them in your preferred order. Ultimately, all of them need to be completed for the story to move forward and for the later chapters to unlock. But yes, you can finish Chapter One and then immediately go to Chapter Six if you have the Discovery Level to do so.

Note that Chapters seven through ten are also available, but the first six must be finished before you can access them.

Even if you didn’t know before starting Subnautica 2, it quickly becomes clear that most of your game time will be spent underwater. Since you’re controlling a human character, your oxygen supply is limited until you find ways to extend it.

At first, your oxygen will seem pretty small because the standard air tank only gives you about 75 seconds before you start to run out of air. To keep from losing your breath, you’ll want to find a way to improve your oxygen capacity. This means exploring away from your Lifepod to discover the recipe for a High Capacity Air Tank, which is fairly easy to find if you’re paying attention.

Where to Find the High Capacity Air Tank Recipe

Since the game encourages a lot of exploration, its developers have placed the recipe for the high-capacity tank in three different spots. Here’s what you need to know about each location:

Aside from scanning QR codes, you can also log into WhatsApp Web by manually entering your phone number. Here’s how:
1. On the WhatsApp Web login page, choose Log in with phone number.
2. Enter your phone number and press Next.
3. You’ll receive an eight-digit code on WhatsApp that you’ll need to input on the web page.
4. Alternatively, on your phone, go to Settings > Linked Devices, select Link a Device, and choose Link with Phone Number.
5. Enter the eight-digit code when prompted, and the web session will be activated.
Protecting Your WhatsApp Web Session

After logging in, WhatsApp Web remains connected until you explicitly log out. To maintain privacy, you can enable an app lock feature:
- Open WhatsApp Web and go to Settings (gear icon).

As you progress through Pragmata, the story begins to focus more clearly on its core themes. The rapid advancement of technology aimed at automating all human tasks eventually leads to machines replacing humans entirely. These machines, however, don’t understand why they are performing their actions.

In summary, this is the story of Idea and why they serve as the true final boss in the game. They are not driven by grand ambitions or personal motivation but are just machines following programmed instructions, trying to imitate human emotion. Your goal is to stop them.

Where is Idea Fought?

While not technically the last boss of the game, Idea is considered the final challenge that requires careful strategy to defeat. The encounter takes place at the very end of the Central Port Sector.

Fighting Idea is a significant difficulty leap compared to earlier bosses. After defeating them, the game automatically moves toward the ending, so make sure to finish any unfinished business before facing them.

How to Beat Idea

Many bosses in the game have multiple pseudo-phases, gaining new moves as their health decreases. In contrast, Idea features clearer phase changes, but some tactics remain effective throughout.

Timing your dodges is crucial. Idea attacks frequently and unexpectedly, so well-timed dodges will give you more safety. They are also covered in Dead Filament, which must be cleansed twice to remove.

Navigating their Hacking Matrix becomes more difficult in later stages, so bringing Sticky Bombs or a Code Generator is helpful. Additionally, avoid using Strike Hacking Mode often, as you want to keep the matrix open as much as possible, and it’s easy to miss opportunities to reopen it.

Phase One

In the first phase, Idea is still dangerous but less complex. Watch for their tentacle swings, which can be delayed and thus tricky to dodge. You need to cleanse the Dark Filament from Idea twice before you can hack and damage them.

Key Moves:
- Tentacle Whip: The boss rushes forward, tightening their tentacles for a quick whip.
- Front-and-Back Tentacle Slam: They lift their tentacles and slam in front and behind.
- Dual Tentacle Sweep: They swipe with tentacles in a wide arc, then do it again after a brief delay.
- Running Tentacle Sweep: At a distance, they widen their tentacles and sweep while dashing toward you.
- Dark Filament Tracking Orb: They send out a slow orb, which must be dodged just before impact to avoid high damage.
- Dark Filament Burst: They charge up, creating a red aura, then unleash a large explosion.
- Charged Dash: They gather tentacles into a single point and dash forward quickly.
Phase Two

Once you lower their health sufficiently, Idea locks you in place and initiates a hacking mini-game to escape. They then enter their second phase, becoming more aggressive with expanded tentacle attacks, including new follow-up moves. They can also block your attacks.

Key Moves:
- Dark Filament Suction Burst: They absorb Dark Filament, dragging Hugh along, exploding if you don’t run away.
- Tentacle Whip Follow-Up: After the whip, they perform a quick second attack.
- Dark Filament Spikes: They slam into the ground, creating red circles, then erupt spikes.
- Front-and-Back Tentacle Slam: Similar to phase one but with faster, 360-degree sweeps.
- Tentacle Shield: They block all damage, which can be canceled with a hack.
Lowering their health again causes them to lock you in place for another mini-game; this does not advance to phase three.

Phase Three

When their health drops below 50%, phase three begins. A quick cutscene shows them with a red circle behind them. They gain one new move but keep all previous attacks.

The major change is in their Hacking Matrix, filled with red sections that keep filling and shifting slots. Standing in a slot that fills completely results in an error that resets your hack progress.

Using Sticky Nodes and the Code Generator makes this phase easier. During blocking moves, the red areas covering the tentacles are more significant but less likely to shift, allowing you to plan your moves better.

Key Move:
- Dark Filament Spike Deployment: They hover and send down spikes that remain as obstacles, removable with a cleanse.
The boss fight concludes after a final activation of the Overdrive Protocol, leading to victory and a short post-battle scene before the credits roll, serving more as a victory lap than a real challenge.

Clay is an essential material in Windrose. You’ll need it to make clay pots, clay bottles, and more advanced building recipes. The game suggests searching for clay once you access the alchemy table and need to craft healing potions— which are vital as you face tougher islands. You might come across some clay early on while exploring the coastal jungle islands in the beginning.

I’ll explain where to find clay in the game world. Since each Windrose map is generated randomly, there’s no fixed spot for clay, but I’ll tell you how to spot it and what it’s used for in crafting.

### Where to Find Clay

Clay appears as large patches of dark, earthy material, often located near water but also inland. You can find patches on your starting island, especially around the coastline. To harvest clay, you’ll need at least a stone pickaxe, which is a basic tool made with three stones and three pieces of wood on a workbench.

Because maps and islands are randomly generated, there’s no single location to find clay. Keep exploring, both near the water and inland, and you’ll eventually come across some patches.

### How to Use Clay

Clay is mainly used to craft clay pots, which are useful for both alchemy and cooking. These pots enable you to create more complex recipes as you progress. Clay bottles are also crafted from clay, and they are necessary for making the Alchemical Base—a key ingredient for brewing potions.

Later in the game, more advanced building recipes will require clay as well, especially when expanding your base. These recipes are unlocked as you explore new areas, complete quests, and discover new crafting recipes in the wild.

How to Achieve Fast Travel in Windrose by Completing and Solving

Windrose isn’t a game for quick trips. You start out learning the basics on a small beach, then suddenly you’re looking at a map full of islands that seem just a little too far away. At first, sailing around has its appeal, but soon you might wonder if there’s a faster way to move without wasting half your game time on open water.

Luckily, there is a solution. However, you won’t find it right away. You’ll need to explore and unlock certain features before the ocean feels smaller. Here’s how fast travel works in Windrose and how you can set it up for yourself.

How to Unlock and Use Fast Travel

Fast travel is available after completing the early main quest called “How My Shore Adventure Began”. During this quest, you learn to smelt Copper Ingots, which allows you to unlock the Fast Travel Bell—an essential item for setting up a fast travel system.

You can obtain a Fast Travel Bell either by finding one or crafting it yourself. One of the earliest ways to get one is through a Smuggler’s Cache near your starting beach. It’s hidden underground behind debris. After clearing it and defeating the enemy inside, you can open a chest that contains a Bell, which also unlocks the recipe. You might also find Bells in chests around shipwrecks during exploration.

If you choose to craft the Bell instead, you’ll need 10 Copper Ingots and 3 Ropes. These are made at a Workbench using Copper Ore, found in caves, and Plant Fiber.

The Bell itself doesn’t do much by itself. You need to place it into a Fast Travel Point, which you build through the construction menu by pressing “B”. Each Fast Travel Point costs 20 Wood and one Bell, and it must be built near water, like on a shoreline or dock.

Once you have at least two Fast Travel Points set up in different locations, you can travel between them freely. If you’re on your ship, you can also open the map and instantly travel to any unlocked location, as long as you’re not in combat or being chased.

The good news is that combat becomes much simpler once you know how to prepare, defend yourself, and use your powerful skills along with well-timed combo attacks.

We’ll guide you through the basics of fighting in Crimson Desert and share some key tips to help you improve. Get your shield ready, select your favorite weapon, and learn to use a variety of skills to master this challenging combat system.

What Are The Basics Of Combat?

The most effective way to succeed in Crimson Desert is to come prepared with the right knowledge, skills, and gear. Upgrading your equipment is crucial—especially your armor and weapons, which can be upgraded at the Smithy using materials and Abyss Relics collected during your journey through Pywel. When you’re ready, visit Turnali in Hernand to upgrade your gear.

One of the most important aspects of combat is using the best gear you have. If you can’t buy better weapons right away, upgrading what you already have is essential, especially after Chapter Four. Focusing on gear upgrades ensures you’re always ready for tougher fights.

Remember: If you advance too far without upgrading, you’re likely to struggle more than necessary.

How To Parry And Dodge

Two fundamental skills in Crimson Desert are parrying and dodging. Mastering these is key to avoiding damage, especially against strong enemies or groups.
- To parry, press LB (L1 on consoles) just before an enemy’s attack lands.
- To dodge, press B (Circle on some controllers) to swiftly evade an attack.
Both actions consume Stamina, so keep an eye on your stamina bar to avoid being vulnerable. You can also use the Keen Senses skill to counterattack just before you’re hit, giving you an advantage in battles.

Tip: Focus on practicing parrying and dodging early. Staying alive and conserving healing items depends on avoiding damage altogether.

What Are The Best Combat Tips?

Once your equipment is upgraded and you know how to survive, it’s time to focus on attacking enemies. There are four main tools you can use:
1. Skills
2. Melee Weapons
3. Ranged Weapons
4. The Environment
Using your skills in combination with your attacks can keep enemies off guard and on the defensive. For example, the Force Palm skill can knock enemies back and lower their defenses. To use it effectively:
- Wait for an enemy to attack or approach cautiously.
- Watch their attack patterns to time your parry or strike.
- Activate Force Palm by pressing R3 or clicking the right stick.
- Once your opponent is stunned or pushed back, follow up with a normal attack or a heavy strike.
This skill is useful throughout the game and helps create openings for big damage.

Experiment with skills like Nature’s Snare as alternatives to basic techniques, and find what fits your playstyle.

Switch Between Melee And Range

Melee combat is your default way to fight, but combining ranged attacks makes fighting smarter and safer. When an enemy is pushed back or steps away, hold LT (L2) to aim your bow and release to fire an arrow. This adds free damage and helps you keep enemies at bay, especially those with ranged weapons or when they’re out of reach.

Don’t forget that you also have secondary weapons, including:
- Spears
- Two-handed swords
- Longswords
To switch weapons quickly, Kliff uses the Quick Swap skill under the Armed Combat skill tree. Damiane and Oongka don’t need this skill—they can switch weapons anytime.

General Tips
- Stamina is vital. Boost it with Abyss Artifacts whenever possible.
- Reinforcing your gear temporarily before tougher battles or bosses is wise.
- Use Abyss Cores to socket permanent upgrades into your weapons and armor.
- Prioritize leveling up your Armed Combat skills early on.
- Parrying (LB/L1) is your most important skill. A successful parry also restores stamina and Spirit.
- Each character has unique weapons and skills—adjust your combat style to fit each one:
  - Kliff blends swords and bows with evasive moves.
  - Damiane is aggressive, focusing on rapid attacks.
  - Oongka excels at AoE skills and powerful ranged attacks.
- Stay in third person during fights—first person can be disorienting with large groups.
- Continuously readjust your camera to keep enemies centered, helping you anticipate attacks and know when to dodge or block.

This map has special requirements that set it apart from other locations in the game. While Outpost requires players to be above a certain Runner Level, Cryo Archive demands even more. Here’s what you need to know about how to unlock and access Cryo Archive. Make sure you’re prepared for the challenge.

How to Access Cryo Archive

While Cryo Archive already shows up on the location select screen at the bottom, you can only choose it if certain conditions are met:
- Your Runner Level must be at least 25.
- You need to have unlocked all factions, meaning you have completed the main contract for each faction.
- You must be playing in a group with two other players.
- Your loadout value must be at least 5,000 credits, or gear ante.
Tip: To level up quickly, check out our guide. For your gear, focus on acquiring Deluxe (blue) equipment pieces since they significantly boost your gear ante. Before you get started, it’s important to understand how dams work. These structures are powerful tools that help your beavers manage water by redirecting it around your map. Let’s look at the different types of dams and how they can help your progress.

There are seven types of dam blocks, ranging from simple dams to large triple floodgates. Each one serves a specific purpose, mainly to control the water flow and prevent contaminated water from damaging your crops and beavers.

Here are all the dam blocks and how you can use them:

When constructing a dam, think ahead—water will build up and could spill over if there’s no outlet. It’s best to redirect water first before altering the terrain too much, to prevent flooding. Starting with floodgates is a smart choice because you can adjust the water flow as needed. This is especially useful during floods, allowing you to hold water back and let it stay in your reservoirs during dry spells.

Sybille de Vespe makes an immediate impression when you meet her in GreedFall: The Dying World. She takes a big risk to free you and Nílan from prison and joins your team for the journey. She’s trying to escape her dull noble life and seek adventure.

As you get to know her, you’ll discover there’s more beneath her cheerful exterior. This can lead to one of the four possible romantic options in the game. Here’s how to boost your approval with Sybille during the story.

Sybille’s Personality

Sybille is cheerful and fun-loving, but she has good intentions. She’s quick with her insults towards enemies and doesn’t like anyone who tries to get in her way.

Generally, if you choose to talk or sneak your way out of fights, you’ll earn favor points with her—if there’s any to gain. Sometimes, she can even step in and calm enemy NPCs by talking them down. Usually, letting her handle these situations earns you extra approval.

She loves her parents but isn’t very loyal to her family, the de Vespe. Working against her family doesn’t cost you approval, and supporting them doesn’t give you any points either.

Note: When deciding whether to side with the de Vespe or the d’Orsay family, it doesn’t affect Sybille’s relationship. Her first quest will change, but she won’t hold a grudge if your choice opposes her family.

Approval Changes During Side Quests

Completing Sybille’s side missions can improve your standing with her. You can make specific choices in these quests for higher approval.

First Companion Quest
- Let Sybille choose which family to protect her officially.
- Lie to her uncle to protect his mistress, Volusa.
- Support her during her talk with her parents.
Second Companion Quest
- Spare the bandits attacking you while searching for the former assassin.
- Pass the stealth check when observing her parents and the assassins.
- If you succeed, betray your source to the assassins.
Third Companion Quest
- Ask her to share a happy memory about her parents.
- Blame her cousin Octave for the trouble.
Relationship Conversation Tips

Sometimes, when you converse with a companion, a new tab with a heart icon appears. This indicates a conversation that can deepen your relationship. These choices aren’t always romantic, so answers can be more friendly or platonic.

First Conversation

Right after you escape from prison, Sybille will ask about your life. To maximize approval, tell her a made-up story to entertain her.

Second Conversation

After visiting and returning from Teer Fradee, you can ask her if she misses her old job as a Legate. Be sure to ask if she misses her old job — not saying you don’t want her to leave, or you’ll lose points.

Third Conversation

Later, talk to her about marriage. Ask if she’s allowed to marry an islander, which will give you more approval.

Fourth Conversation

Once her final companion quest is done, you might get a chance to discuss her role as a de Vespe. Compliment her by saying she has a heart, unlike her family members.

Romantic Relationship

Once you earn enough approval, Sybille might suggest spending the night in your cabin. Her romance may start right after her second personal quest.

If it hasn’t, keep bringing her along and raising her approval, but avoid being in another relationship with someone else in the crew.

You can end your relationship with Sybille anytime before the final quest. After that, the romance is locked in and will influence the story’s ending.
